Girls Go For It

Empowering girls to pursue their passions and boldly achieve their dreams

Girls Go For It in St. Louis

Girls Go For It launched in St. Louis in fall 2018. Since launch, we’ve helped more than 75 girls in St. Louis Public Schools realize their potential. Increased confidence in girls can also help create better classroom environments.

Our special local emphasis on building confidence empowers young women during critical points in their educational and social careers (9-11 years old) to set goals, combat bullying, build one another up, and practice self-love.

Why Girls Go For It?

“I started GGFI here in St. Louis because I feel like there’s nothing else like it in town to promote this positivity in young girls. The goal is to equip these ladies with what they need to build up strong support systems and the inner confidence that will help them shine as they head into middle school and beyond.” – Abby Llorico, GGFI STL

What does the program look like?

Lessons and activities are done as a class, as small groups, or individually and focus on the themes of the day. Volunteer “coaches” work with the small groups to guide the girls through the activities, facilitate discussions, and serve as role models…and often wind up becoming true mentors and confidants for the girls.
